A Transition to Sustainable Housing – Progress and Prospects for a Low Carbon Housing Future

Written by Andréanne and her colleague, Trivess Moore.

They investigate how market failures have limited the growth of sustainable housing and review policy responses aimed at overcoming these obstacles. The book addresses environmental issues as well as equity and social justice in housing. Drawing on sustainability transitions theory, the authors analyze case studies covering energy-efficient homes, compact and shared living models, neighbourhood-based developments, circular housing practices, and alternative financing approaches.

Andréanne and Trivess invite policymakers, planners, industry professionals, and researchers to reconsider how housing is designed, built, and governed, while emphasizing the connection between household experiences and wider housing policy outcomes.
