My research focused on advancing more ethical and equitable approaches to land use planning in British Columbia following the adoption of the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA). It investigated Ethical Space as a conceptual and practical framework for addressing power imbalances between Indigenous and non-Indigenous governments, using qualitative methods and an exploratory case study in the Upper Columbia.
In my spare time, I am an avid bikepacker and splitboarder. I can often be found scouting new routes or on mountain tops. I recently established the first women and non-binary bikepacking organization in Canada, Building Momentum Bikepacking, which works to dismantle barriers for folks to participate in the sport. I also relish in a good relax. When not being active, I am usually reading, baking, doing embroidery, or making some silly game for my friends. A full believer in the concept of “we only get one life”, I try to embody this mantra every day.
